What this is
Family Recall Brief is a free service that summarizes U.S. product and food recalls in plain English. We read official notices from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the FDA, write short summaries, and email them to people who sign up.
Not a substitute for the official notice
Our summaries are for general information only. They are not safety, medical, or legal advice. Always read the official notice, which we link in every item, and follow its instructions. If your child may be injured or in danger, contact your doctor or emergency services. For possible poisoning, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.
We may miss things
We work to notify everyone as quickly and accurately as we can, using the information the government agencies publish. But we depend on their data and their timing. We do not cover every recall, and we may miss, delay, or leave out a recall that matters to you. A recall not appearing in our emails or on this site does not mean a product is safe. Emails can also be delayed, filtered to spam, or fail to arrive.
No guarantees, and limits on our responsibility
The site and emails are provided "as is," without promises that they are complete, current, or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, Family Recall Brief and its owner are not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage that results from a missed, late, incomplete, or inaccurate recall summary, from an email that did not arrive, or from any decision you make based on what we publish. You are responsible for checking the official notice and for deciding what to do.
