Ritchey Design recalls Ritchey Carbon Fiber Bicycle Forks

August 13, 2026 ยท Source: U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

What it is

Ritchey Design is recalling Ritchey Carbon Fiber Bicycle Forks. The record says all carbon bicycle forks with crown mounting holes are included in the recall. They were sold at Performance Bike in Chico, CA, Adrenaline Bikes in Orange, CA, Excel Sports Boulder in Boulder, CO, and other bicycle retailers nationwide and on-line, including ritcheylogic.com, from July 2024 through June 2026. Forks sold on their own cost between $660 and $700, and bike frames with carbon bicycle forks cost between $1,760 and $3,500. About 775 units are involved.

The hazard

The alloy insert in the front crown hole of the carbon fork can come loose. This can cause an accessory to fall off and land on the bike's front wheel, which poses a risk of serious injury or death from a fall and crash hazard. The firm has received one report of the alloy insert in the crown hole coming loose. No injuries have been reported.
