Shengsen Prank Sound Maker recalled because swallowed coin batteries can cause death
August 13, 2026 ยท Source: U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
What it is
The Shengsen Prank Sound Maker is being recalled. It was sold online at Amazon.com from April 2024 through April 2026 for about $8. About 667 were sold.
The hazard
The sound maker violates the mandatory safety standard for consumer products with button cell and coin batteries. Children can easily get to the lithium coin batteries, which is a swallowing hazard. The packaging and product also do not have the warnings required under Reese's Law. When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, they can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death.
Check if you own it
Check whether you have a Shengsen Prank Sound Maker, especially if you bought it on Amazon.com between April 2024 and April 2026.
What to do
Stop using the sound maker immediately and contact Shengsen Toys for a full refund. You will be asked to properly dispose of the sound maker in the trash and send a photo of the disposed product to ywpower@outlook.com. Button cell and coin batteries are hazardous. Batteries should be disposed of or recycled by following local hazardous waste procedures.
