5Color kids' bike helmet and pads sets recalled because the helmets don't meet the safety standard

September 24, 2026 ยท Source: U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

What it is

The 5Color Children's Bike Helmet and Pads Sets are being recalled. About 324 sets were sold.

The hazard

The helmets do not meet the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets. They don't comply with the requirements for impact attenuation, retention system, positional stability, labeling and certification. In a crash, they can fail to protect the child, which poses a serious risk of injury or death from head injury.

Check if you own it

Look for a 5Color Children's Bike Helmet and Pads Set. It was sold online at Amazon.com in May 2026 for between $25 and $26.

What to do

Stop using the helmet right away and contact 5Color for a full refund of the set. You will be asked to destroy the helmet by cutting the straps, then email a photo of it to FiveColorCS@163.com. After that, dispose of the helmet. You may keep the protection pads.
